Today I am off to coordinate the wedding of Lesley and Gregg! They are such a fabulous couple and have been so much fun to work with. Below is a sneak peek at their wedding design through the inspiration I created early on in the planning process. Rustic with a little bit of prep and romance.

I’d like to introduce my assistant Cait McRae. She came recommended last year by my good friend and colleague, Amanda from One True Love Vintage Rentals, and I am so happy to have her on board. She joins with a breadth of experience assisting with production and coordination at weddings, but is ready to learn all the planning, organization and behind-the-scenes work it takes to get to the Big Day.
Get to know Cait:
Day job: Online advertising sales – I help make sure that the ads you see online are relevant to you!
Why do you want to intern in the wedding industry: From the time I was six, laying on the floor of my mother’s office and cutting dresses out of wedding magazines to collage together, I have always wanted to help make people’s wedding fantasies a reality. Interning for Kaella Lynn Events gives me a chance to earn a sort of “wedding master’s degree”, by wearing a lot of different ‘hats’- from planning to timing; event design to execution. Working closely with Kaella allows me to learn and grow in as many areas of the wedding industry as possible, so that one day, I can jump in head first with a strong understanding of how best to help our clients actualize their dreams of the perfect wedding day.
Favorite part of a wedding day:The calm that pervades JUST before the bride walks down the aisle. There’s a sparkling energy that dances across the faces of the bride and wedding party when all of the vignettes have been set, the guests have been seated, and the groom stands excitedly waiting at the end of the aisle. I watch for that spark – it’s wonderful to see in action.
Biggest surprise about weddings: There are SO many vendors and groups that work together to make the wedding happen! From rentals to florals, catering to cake; its AMAZING that all of these people look to the wedding planner to organize and call the wedding day ‘plays’. The planner is the quarterback, and I love seeing everything come together under her watchful eye.
Three things you can’t live without: My black Longchamp tote (equally perfect for wedding set up or a night on the town); My watch (a graduation present to myself, keeps me ahead of schedule on wedding days!); and my iPhone 5 (yes, it is covered in sparkles, is my key to organizing the universe, and is permanently attached to me.)
