When you think of St. Patrick’s Day, the luck of the Irish, and four leaf clovers, it’s rare that you might associate those things with a styled event – but that’s exactly what many wedding couples are doing this month. Holiday-centric events can sometimes be theme-y and cheesy – but if done right, the Irish background can be subtle and deeply meaningful. The trick is in the execution, and the minor details that help hint (not SHOUT) that the event has a special tie to this internationally recognized Irish day of celebration.
When an engaged couple starts to think about their wedding, and the things that make their relationship unique, a certain time or place can recollect special memories or mile mark a particular moment in their love story.
We love the idea of St. Patrick’s Day serving as wedding inspiration – perhaps the bride’s family is Irish, or the groom bought his fiancé her first cocktail (from him) at a St. Patrick’s day soiree. One can even be so bold as to borrow from the Irish when coming up with a color palette or ceremony backdrop. Whatever the meaning, emerald green and gold accents are a delightful combination for an early spring wedding, and we can’t help but gush over the real weddings and photo shoots that we found to inspire this collection of inspiring images. Imagine lush green ferns, emerald satin bridesmaids dresses, and pops of gilded flatware and votive candles as far as the eye can see – Erin go Bragh!
1. The PERFCT emerald engagement ring, set against antique lace and a neutral bridal look.
4. Homegrown details (like the artichoke escort cards in this display styled by our very own Kaella Wilson) and a modern motif linen paired with tall taper candles keep the table from feeling too stuffy.
