I’ve been noticing piñata’s everywhere, and not just for Cinco de Mayo. Variations of this fun and festive party decoration are popping up at all kinds of events… even weddings! With Cinco de Mayo around the corner, it seems the perfect time to share some fabulous and inspirational ways to implement the piñata into your wedding decor.
Amidst running a business and planning weddings for fabulous clients, we have had quite the year as a family. A year ago, we bought a house in San Francisco. No small or easy feat as many of you know. Upon moving in, we realized the place needed quite a bit of work, so during wedding season, we had to move out of our home temporarily with a 1 year old, to allow for the renovations. Truthfully, it was a long and rough road, as is the case with these old Victorian homes. Next came filling the home with furniture. I am so selective and wanted each piece to be something we loved, that this took what felt like ages and a lot of trial and error. I must have spent a fortune on shipping costs! Finally, a year after buying this house, we were ready to share it and celebrate how far we have come. This past weekend, we hosted a housewarming party complete with pink flamingos, pineapples, and (my trademark) black and white stripes! Desserts provided by none other than the wonderfully talented Delish Designs, linens from La Tavola Fine Linen and favors from Miette.
Getting to fill this home with friends reminded me what home is all about. We cannot wait to fill this home with many more gatherings and cherished memories. Cue: more parties! Here are some of the photos my husband and I shot of our little shindig. #Warmthishouse Joie de vivre! Kaella Lynn

For those of you who have been to our studio, you know Blu Bungalow is not just a work space. It is an elite event planning studio that connects engaged couples with the perfect team of vendors for your dream wedding day! They also want to help you find the perfect venue too! So for the last few years, founder, Hazel Bourget, has brought this experience out of the studio for the Beyond Blu Bungalow Tour. A special event giving the recently engaged a one-of-a-kind experience at a super fabulous venue here in the Bay Area.
Last year the tour was held at the Conservatory of Flowers and California Academy of Sciences. This year, you get the full experience of a wedding at The Exploratorium. Meet vendors, get inspired, sip, taste, and explore the possibilities for your big day.
We’d love to see you there! You can purchase your tickets here. Limited space available, so don’t wait.
Be sure to introduce yourself to myself or Cait. We’d be happy to be your resources and answer any questions you may have during the event.
